Lamar struck with a run in the 6th to take the lead. The Wolverines were not done as Catcher Matthew Prather connected on a 1-out triple in the Bottom of the 7th. Alan Mikel Stanley then drove Prather in to tie the game at 11-11. After a 2-out stolen base. Christian McLaren hit a 3-2 pitch for a single into Left Field to score Stanley for the walk-off win.
Chase Hood (3-2) got the Win in relief of starter Casey Stevens. Dillon Adams went 4 for 4 with 2 RBI. Matthew Prather went 2 for 4 and Chase Hood was 2 for 5 with 3 RBI.
“This was a huge win for our program. Our players never quit through all the delays and that is a testament to the leadership on the team. To get three big hits in the bottom of the 7th is phenomenal. We are just trying to keep our name on the bracket as long as we can.”
Whitmire (10-15) will travel to the loser of Dixie/McBee on Tuesday at 6:00.
