The Lady Wolverines celebrated their seniors Tuesday night with a region match-up against Dixie. Although the second and third quarters would prove to be rocky, the Lady Wolverines were able to pull out a hard fought victory for the seniors after the best quarter, offensively, of the season in the fourth. The girls came out and defensively shut the Lady Hornets down in the first quarter, but due to turnovers and unnecessary fouls they were able to creep back in the game and make it a 5 point game at halftime. The Lady Wolverines would come out a little crazy again in the second half before settling down and going on a 9-0 run to end the third quarter. The fourth quarter would prove to be the difference and would seem as if the light clicked for the Whitmire offense as they moved the ball and found open look after open look and were able to take advantage of their opportunities. The win takes Whitmire to 8-2 on the region with a chance to get into a tie for first in the next two games.

The Lady Wolverines were lead in scoring by Taylor Peay and Alexus Sanders who both had 11 on the evening. Kaylynn Roche added 10, Raegan Kendrick 5, Harleigh McLaren 4, and Jazmine Curenton 3.

The Lady Wolverines were lead on the boards by Kaylynn Roche with 12 to give her another double-double. Raegan Kendrick added 8, Taylor Peay 6, Chelsea Goggins 4, Harleigh McLaren 2, and Hailee Robbins 1.

As a team, Whitmire accumulated 10 steals (Raegan Kendrick and Alexus Sanders 4), 10 assists (Raegan Kendrick and Alexus Sanders 3), and 3 blocks (Taylor Peay).

Whitmire will continue region play with an away contest against High Point Academy that will be played at the SC School for the Deaf and Blind on Friday.
