The Lady Wolverines traveled to Due West, SC to take on the Lady Hornets of Dixie Friday night and were able to get the victory and improve their record to 6-4 on the season and 5-0 in region play. The girls came out and hit some early shots and played really good defensively to limit the opportunities for Dixie. The girls also did a good job of moving the ball to find open shots and knock them down. The second quarter we got a little lazy on both ends of the floor, but were able to end the half on a nice feed inside and finish. The second half saw some good passing and good takes to the rim by the Lady Wolverines which allowed us to extend our lead and put the game out of reach.
The Lady Wolverines were lead in scoring by Jazmine Curenton with 9 points. She was followed by Hailee Robbins with 6, Raegan Kendrick 5, Alexus Sanders and Kaylynn Roche 4, and Samantha Strubeck and Chelsea Goggins 2.
Kaylynn Roche lead the team in rebounding with 7. She was followed by Taylor Peay with 5, Samantha Strubeck and Raegan Kendrick 4, Jordyn Brooks 3, Alexus Sanders 2, and Hailee Robbins/Chelsea Goggins/Deja Livingston 1.
The team had 21 steals (Taylor Peay 5), 10 assists (Taylor Peay 3), and 7 blocks (Taylor Peay 6).
The Lady Wolverines will host High Point Academy Tuesday night with the girls beginning at 6:00 pm.
