All-State Recognition

Four Wolverine student-athletes were recently name to All-State teams. Junior Zaviea Sanders was named to the Class A All-State Softball team by the South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports (CAWS). The Whitmire High School Athletic Department held its annual Awards Ceremony was held on May 21, 2015 in the WCS Gymnasium. Athletic Physicals

Athletic physicals for the 2015-2016 school year will be given at the Doctor’s Office in Whitmire on June 3rd from 2:00-4:00 pm and June 8th from 8:30-10:30 am. These are the only days to get the physical for $7.00. See Coach Addis to pick up your physical forms.

All-Region Baseball

Three Whitmire Baseball players earned spots on the Region I-A All-Region Baseball team. * Junior Shortstop/Pitcher/Catcher Alex Ellison earned his third consecutive appearance. Athletic Awards Set

Whitmire Community School will hold it’s annual athletic awards ceremony on Thursday, May 21st. The event will take place in the W.C.S. Gymnasium beginning at 6:00. All athletes are asked to attend. The public is welcome.

Cheer Tryouts

Any girls interested in trying out for next year’s cheer squads may pick up information from outside of Ms. Wood’s room (107). All forms must be turned in by Friday, May 15th at 3:00 pm.

Softball Finishes Strong

The Varsity Softball team lost Game 1 of the District III Championship to Lewisville by a score of 13-4. The Lady Wolverines fought their way back through the Loser’s Bracket to win games against Ridge Spring-Monetta and Tamassee-Salem. Players vs. Coaches Softball Games

The Whitmire High School coaching staff will take on the Varsity Softball team and Varsity Baseball team in the 3rd Annual Players vs. Coaches Softball Challenge. The games will be played on Friday, May 22nd beginning at 6:30 pm at Legends Stadium. The two games will serve as a fundraiser for the Whitmire Wolverine Athletic Booster Club.

Jerseys for Sale

The Whitmire High Athletic Department will be selling old Wolverine Football jerseys at the Spring Fling this Friday. The event will take place at Legends Stadium from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. There will be a variety of things to do and eat. The cost of the jerseys will be $15.

Softball to Play for District Title

The Varsity Softball team defeated Tamassee-Salem on Monday by a score of 8-3. The Lady Wolverines will travel to Lewisville for the District III Championship on Wednesday afternoon at 5:00. Whitmire will have to defeat the Lions twice to advance to the Upper State Tournament beginning on Saturday.
