Coach Addis is in his second stint at Whitmire High. From 1989-1992 he taught Social Studies and served as the Head Varsity Baseball Coach and Assistant Football Coach. In the Fall of 1992 he moved to Jonesville High School as a Social Studies teacher and coach. During the 13 years he was at Jonesville he held the following positions at different times: Head Baseball Coach, Head Softball Coach, Head Girls Track Coach, Defensive Coordinator for Football, and Athletic Director for the last 7 years he was there. In 2005 he was named Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Whitmire High School. In 2007 he led the Wolverines to their first Football Region Championship in 26 years. In 2014 he stepped down from football to focus mainly on his Athletic Director role. He also teaches Driver Education and Freshman Focus. He coached in the 1995 North/South All-Star Baseball Game and the 2012 North/South All-Star Football Game. Coach Addis presently serves on the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association Board of Directors and will be President of the organization for the 2015-16 school term.
Coach Addis resides in the Santuc Community of Union County with his wife, Dena Jones Addis and daughter, Kayley Jayne. He has 2 other children who reside in Spartanburg, Jared (married to Kodi Via) and Kristen (married to John Allen Griswold). His 3 grandchildren are Nate, Drew, and Abe. Coach Addis and his family are members and regular attenders of Jonesville Baptist Church.
