Legends Stadium has been home to the Whitmire High School Baseball and Football teams for eight decades. The historic venue is now named for the legendary coaches in Whitmire sports history.  Listed are the accomplishments of theses leaders:

Ken Coleman

Football

  • 39-14 record from 1962-1966
  • .754 winning % is highest in school history
  • Conference Champs (1962, 1963, 1964, 1965)
  • Upper State Runner-Up (1962)

Men’s Basketball

  • Coached 6 seasons (1960-1967)
  • Conference Champs (1961-1962)

Men’s Golf

  • 2 State Champions (1978, 1979)

Women’s Basketball

  • 2 Conference Champs (1969-1970, 1970-1971)

 

Inducted into Whitmire High School Hall of Fame in 1980.

 

William “Lefty” Johnson

Football

  • Most seasons as head coach in school history (12)
  • Most wins in school history (85)
  • Most years as head coach in school history
  • 8 Conference Champions (1968, 1969, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1978)

  • State Champions (1978)

Baseball
